Ricki Outis Textile Classes

More from our exhibition at Textiles East

One of the things that makes tutoring adults so different from tutoring children, is the amazing knowledge, skill and life experience that they bring with them to the classes.

I am so lucky to have this wonderful set of students and I definitely learn more from them than they do from me!

Jean's Sutton Hoo Project  - mixed media and stitch

Such amazing detail!

Bridgit's bag - Gelli print, screen print, stitch - the whole works!

Liz's Indigo dyed samples stitched and made into a bag

More form Jill's experimental cross- stitch sample book

Jean - screen printed from her beautiful hydrangea drawings.

And more from Jean, filler resist screen prints.

Jean can spend up to 2 days perfecting her screen before she starts printing.

Jane Frost has been exploring texture in her screen prints including taking rubbings from her own woven baskets.  While her granddaughter has been doing extraordinarily fine, detailed stencil work like uthis dragonfly.

From the hands of Liz - Indigo dyeing, cyanotype printing and some added stitching.

Sharon's journey from Cambridge to Ireland, all in a scroll with transferrred images, print and stitch

And a gorgeous nuno felted scarf from Anne - such luscious colours!

If you'd like to learn how to work with colour and cloth in a contemporary and experimental way, I will be starting a new class at Prickwillow ArtSpace on alternating Wednesdays from January 26.

Beginners wet felting will be on Saturdays 8th and 15 Nov 25.

And if you're keen to try screen printing, we have a Screen Print Sunday on the first Sunday of the month.

Let me know if you'd like to come along and I can send you more details.
